The drive down Point Prim road is one of my favourite on the island. The pretty scenery along the road and the promise of decent food and beautiful views at its bottom never disappoint.
The Point Prim Lighthouse is the island’s oldest and the only one with a round brick structure. It was designed by Isaac Smith and built in 1845 by Richard Walsh. Interestingly, Smith was also responsible for the design of “Province House”, the seat of PEI’s Legislative Assembly.
This quiet-seeming scene was taken in early July while several groups of people were visiting the lighthouse. I even met another photographer who was there with his family. His kids, obviously familiar with tripods, waited patiently out of frame while I finished shooting this scene. As soon as I moved on they jumped onto the boat, just like my kids do whenever we visit.
